The potential of Basis Engineering lies in its highly qualified, multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians, with a permanent staff of about 50 employees and a total staff of about 80 to 100 people depending on work load.

Basis Engineering has developed in the last years an organisation structure able to handle projects from few hundreds hours to more than 50,000 man hours maintaining efficiency and flexibility.

The technical department is responsible for the management and the development of the projects from the completion of process design to the specification of all equipment (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control) up to construction details.

Most of Basis Engineering’s personnel have strong experience in the Oil and Gas upstream industry with different and complementary backgrounds. As a team, Basis Engineering covers the complete spectrum of skills required to develop solutions for any type of challenge that may arise within the needs in the Oil and Gas upstream industry.

The Technical Department is broken down into disciplines as follows:
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • PROCESS, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
  • VESSEL, PACKAGES AND MACHINERY
  • PIPING and 3D CAD Plant Design
  • PIPELINE and SEA LINE
  • STRESS ANALYSIS
  • ELECTRICAL
  • INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
  • CIVIL and STRUCTURAL
  • PROCUREMENT
  • PLANNING and COST CONTROL
  • QA/QC
Most of the engineers within the technical department have been involved in projects, from screening and conceptual studies to detailed design and assistance to yard and they form a strong scientific core within the company. Building on the past experience of this team of experts, Basis Engineering is able to deliver and transfer specific technological improvements from one project to the next.

Basis Engineering design capabilities result from the man hours directly performed by its permanent staff plus the additional subcontracted to minor engineering and drafting companies.
This lead to an overall capacity to run about 200,000 man hours per year. Cost-effective work organisations are put in place case-by-case:
  • Tailor made teams
  • Project task forces including experts and Clients’ engineers
  • Association abroad in joint ventures with local companies
  • Long term cooperation when required by the Client or justified by market demand
